i went with some teachers the other day on yet another adventure. it is so fun not knowing what we are doing. all i knew from the outset was that we were going to incheon, a city about an hour's drive west. the principal had invited me as we were climbing a mountain on saturday on what was one of the most dangerous hikes i have ever experienced.
when i woke up it was starting to snow. by the time we got to the yellow sea it was snowing really hard and there was about 4-5 inches of accumulation. at some point they told me we were taking a boat to an island.

does anyone know how tides word? i surely dont know. where does all the water go? these boats were resting on the sea floor in the morning and when we got back it was full of water.

that is the ferry that took us onto the island.

there are my coworkers walking to the boat. the bus is in the background there.

beautiful peaceful snowy beaches. it felt so nice to get out of the city. i have found myself really noticing in movies and tv shows whenever there is wind blowing through trees or the sounds of a night in the forest, that that is what im focusing on.

mr kwon. he told me that the field behind him was for rice and in the back-background was where they made salt.

the way back several hours later. by this time it had stopped snowing. we were to eat dinner and go noribonging. i think i frustrated some people by refusing to sing. but i did it last time and really wasn't feelin it.

Beautiful pictures Will. I can't imagine seeing snow on a beach.

i like what you said about the wind in the trees, etc. like it a lot.

not that i'm knowledgeable on the subject, but tides have to do with the gravity of the moon. "un-believeable" . . . i know.

Will: I am so excited about your blog-we will be checking weekly and "following" you. David can tell you all about the tides-it is beyond me. we miss you.

okay-So I read back to December and I love this! I love getting to see your adventure and what you are getting to see, and eat, and do, and think about! what a cool gift to share with your friends. and by the way-I am so proud of you for going. the other day one of our neighbors (totally a mom) told David that she was proud that he grew his hair out enough to have curls again-and David said that she didn't have any right to say that or say that she was proud of him-so. I hope its okay for me to be proud of you-but its brave to go so far away and not know the language and I think it is such a good thing for the soul. And what's your address? Reading this today was my treat before reading a gazillion chapters of pregnant lady nursing....thank you!
