my day

about 3:00 i looked down at my desk and realized it was a good representation of what i did today. i only had one class of 1st and 2nd graders and we played simon says and that circle hand slap game that goes... "down by the banks of the hanky panky...." but with "a,b,c,d,e,f...".

the rest of the day i read the bible, watched the office and the it crowd, drank coffee, listened to music, tried to perfect my pen flick, surfed the internet, and tried to figure out how to dispose of the sweet potatoes an anonymous teacher had delivered in a bag to my class via a student. they give me so much stuff and i feel so bad because i can't eat it all. this morning i got 2 korean doughnuts, some korean cake, a milky yogurt drink (korean) that is actually named after me-will- (top pic in front of the tissues), that coffee drink in the bottom pic with the straw on it, AND an aloe drink (it has little bits of aloe in it-delicious). anyways the teachers are really really nice to me.

eg (this is turning into a longer post than usual) sunday when i went to church i turned my phone onto silent mode and forgot to turn it back on before i went to sleep. so monday morning i was awakened by my phone vibrating at 855. my first class STARTS at 850. it was one of my teachers calling asking where i was. i tried to explain. then called jieun (who is my semi-lieason to the rest of the teachers because she speaks the best english) and she said not to worry. so i got to school, missing my first two classes. it was not a big deal because i don't have classes on thur and they can make them up. but no one told the principal which was pretty nice. i think it is because i have gotten to school early everyday and they know it was a real accident. so that was pretty nice.

but at lunch i was sitting with jieun when my principal came up to me and said "why were you late?" and i tried to explain what happened. he just nodded and said ok and walked away and jieun leaned in and said, "he was talking about being late for lunch". i asked her if he understood what i was saying and she said no. we all had a good laugh and now the principal thinks i take 3 minute power naps before lunch.
