as i walked out of school today i noticed that army trucks had pulled up and were unloading something outside. i quickly pulled out my camera just in time to find hundreds of guns next to the soccer field. i snapped some pictures as fast as i could but it was kind of difficult with some army guy waving his hand in front of my camera. i tried to explain that he was getting in the way of some great photos but again the language barrier barred any meaningful communication.

speaking of...I just bought guns, germs and steel. I won't be a able to read it for a while and in the meantime I'd like you to prepare a brief primer on the book for me (no more than 5,000 words).
